Once trump tells his magat army not to take common painkillers, but take folic acid instead, we can expect the said magat army to overdose on folic acid. Much like the people who died during covid from ingesting horse wormer. I certainly do not expect the magats to check whether folic acid in excess can be harmful.

(28,634 posts)Folic acid and folinic acid are both forms of vitamin B9, but they differ in their origin, chemical structure, and how the body metabolizes them. Folic acid is a synthetic, oxidized form, while folinic acid is a naturally occurring, reduced, and biologically active form.
Folinic acid is found in leafy greens , other vegetables and fruits , and certain meats (liver) and fish .

Sure, we probably need more leafy greens, but let's not pretend it's a panacea.

(28,634 posts)Has to do with the autism debate - Oz recommends leucovorin for autism ( leucovorin is a synthetic form of folinic acid , used in combination with chemotherapy) .
Folic acid is a synthetic form of folinic acid , used to fortify grain cereals etc , folinic acid is the natural form of B9 available in the foods we eat.
Not reccing kale for headaches.

(7,366 posts)Now the price of this supplement will go through the roof. My wife has to take it along with Deplin (insurance doesn't cover either one) because of a rare genetic mutation. She actually needs it and almost died. Took the doctors over two weeks to figure it out.

(7,366 posts)Cheaper than a pharmacy and they only had it specifically for her. They didn't even know what it was for, head pharmacist was asking me questions about it.
