Yes once the dx is made there can be early intervention.

And with such support a person can function in society.

Today kids with autism are fairly commonplace.

What really caused more problems with kids is the social isolation
and anxiety related to the Covid pandemic. This has really caused problems
and clinicians don't know when these kids will catch up developmentally
and intellectually. (This is from psych colleague still working with kids.)
