But now we know his real Turning Point was at the age of 16 when he applied to West Point Military Academy and was rejected.
According to a former High School classmate, after he received an admission rejection letter, he went full-on racist.
He couldnt accept failure and blamed it on a black applicant to the academy, any black person.

Another life Rush ruined. So many were addicted to listening to his garbage.

(69,648 posts)Every university has one. When I was in college there was a guy named Brother Jed who made the southeastern university circuit. His show was pretty entertaining. He'd rail about the evils of drinking, drugs, rock and roll, and sex. Mostly sex. He was very preoccupied with sex.
In more recent decades it seemed that each major university got their own assigned preacher. The local guy was meaner than Brother Jed had been.
Charlie Kirk just took it up a notch in terms of publicity and reach. Instead of an old man dressed in a black suit, "Charlie" looked like the students. Instead of shouting about damnation and brimstone, Kirk pretended to "talk" with his audience. But it's still the old message: "There are people among us who are evil. Drive them out or be destroyed by them."
