Here is her post about upcoming exploratory surgery,https://www.democraticunderground.com/1036152178
and her stalwart and stoic acceptation of a scary hard time in the near future.
We hear the phrase thoughts and prayers so much that I have stopped saying it a good while back.
Especially in these turbulent days.
May I tell you about an African proverb that has recently come to my attention and I have begun to love and apply whenever possible:
The African proverb, often quoted as "When you pray, move your feet," emphasizes that faith requires action, not just words or thoughts. It serves as a call to action, reminding people to actively participate in the process of achieving their goals or making a difference in the world, combining spiritual belief with practical effort to manifest change.
Now I realize we are a widespread group, and cant move our feet with our prayers and our thoughts during her ordeal.
What we can do is send her a few words she is not expecting, and tell her what she means to us.

(22,694 posts)More than anything, I love how she is present here. She is reliable, observant, and inclusive. I feel complete when I know Peggy has read, commented on, and acknowledged a contribution of mine. I think she is such an essential part of DU that without her, the glue would be missing, and cohesion is threatened.
I'm so glad I made this post.
California Peggy, you are known and are loved.

(4,301 posts)I don't recall any direct interaction with you. I basically just rec all your photos and descriptions of your surroundings.
You strike me as being a kind, observant, and generous person by sharing your world with us. Your posts calm me and remind me of the beauty that is all around us. It inspires me to notice the beauty that surrounds me.
I hope you post soon after your recuperation. And one final thought...
I'm so grateful the "rapture" didn't take either one of us!
Here is a bit of the beauty I see around me...

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
