This is NOT a case of either/or. I agree that Schlump is an idiot. Always has been, always will be. But he's also showing clear signs of dementia that is eroding whatever cognitive abilities he ever had.

No need to take my word for it. People with more expertise that I will ever have are sounding the alarm about this. My personal favorite is Dr. John Gartner of Shrinking Trump. Here he lays out the evidence quite clearly for Joanna Coles of the Daily Beast and talks about how the dementia is interacting with Schlump's pre-existing personality disorders.
