This is ominous, and the most serious issue to be concerned with at the moment.

This simply isn’t done. Unless we are on the verge of war, or something else unprecedented.

One of the following could be the reason
- War with Venezuela (my personal likely reason)
- Pulling leadership away from Europe for pending strikes from Russia
- War with China/Russia
- Use of military domestically
- Stupidity of leadership

I do not think it is credibly related to the pending shutdown, as WaPo suggests.

We’ve had shutdowns in the past and the military is exempt.

To provide distraction from trumps past actions. This is a multi million dollar exercise. Will American blood be shed? Do I have to ask if he is capable of such?

It’s harder than most think for a soldier or commander to get to the level of disobeying an illegal order. Just ask the Venezuelans killed in those boats.

The brass wants to do their job, lead the military. Loyalty oaths not welcome nor needed. A smart leader would make that work.

7. I'll wager he is pulling a Saddam Hussein and gathering them to confront those who aren't loyal.

Will they be pulled out of the audience and killed? Probably not. Maybe they will be court martialed or given the chance to retire.

I think heads will roll figuratively speaking. They will end up with just a few maga lunatics in charge of the Armed Services.
