Residents may now open carry with impunity - no classes, background checks, references, or interviews.

(405 posts)What if the sheriff or police chief is a racist who doesn't think black people should be allowed to have guns? Or doesn't trust LGBTQ citizens with guns?

It may be that since the application for an LTC or a FID goes through the local police, the implication is that you drop it off in person. That's very different than an interview.
Also, in general, that process is messed up since it basically means giving the regime a list of blue staters who own firearms. No thanks.
