Trump Threatens New York City Funding If Mamdani Wins: 'He Won't Be Getting Any'

Trump threatened to halt federal funding to New York City if Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the mayoral election.

In a Truth Social post Monday after incumbent Eric Adams dropped out of the race, Trump called Mamdani a “communist” and warned that the progressive candidate is “going to have problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City.”

The president wrote, “Remember, he needs the money from me, as President, in order to fulfill all of his FAKE Communist promises. He won’t be getting any of it, so what’s the point of voting for him?”

New York City receives billions of dollars annually from the federal government.
