EMT, cop accused of covering up child sexual abuse in Davidson County
DENTON, N.C. (WBTV) - An EMT and police officer from Davidson County were arrested after allegedly covering up child sexual abuse and destroying a key piece of evidence.
Davidson County deputies said they received a report about the abuse at a home on Anderson Street in Denton and the surrounding area on Aug. 25. Jeremy Lanning Amburn, 43, was named the primary suspect.

According to deputies, investigators found that Angela Carpenter Amburn, 40, was aware and allegedly facilitated the abuse.
Detectives also found that Davidson County EMT Benjamin Geoffrey Myers, 38, and Brookford Police Officer Jennifer Aree Myers, 44, accessed government computer systems to warn Amburn about the investigation.
Key evidence was then destroyed, deputies said.
