So Trump posted a "DEEPLY RACIST "DEEPFAKE AI VIDEO." What do WE do about it?

It seems like our options are to WRITE and CALL our elected officials. If they're Republican, they'll PROBABLY SAY they don't know ANYTHING about it. The details are here:

'He has lost it': Outrage as Trump posts 'deeply racist' AI video of Democratic leaders

This ventures so far into 25th Amendment territory that I don't know what's left for him...just using "the "N" word" on a regular basis? Tarring and feathering on his Mat-a-Lago "Rose Garden" umbrella patio? What's he actually going to have to do before he's removed as unfit to serve?

Contact Dems in the House, Senate, and lawmaker in your state. Let them make a collective statement. Write it for them if you wish.

And we KNOW how they will REACT when confronted with this:

1), "I haven't seen the video"

2). "I'm not interested in the president's social media posts. I'm focused on making America great again."

They never respond with anything different...why would they now?

First thing is to quit bringing a box of cookies to a gun fight.

Get involved the dirt like the republicans. They get dirty and win. We say “oh we can’t do that, it has no decorum” and lose…. Time to change up the approach.

12. That's such a BS thing to put on vulnerable people who

are now literally just trying to survive being surrounded by this madness. Every time I hear someone say something like that it tells me that they themselves have a very safe and secure source of income, are probably white, and are either lucky enough to be surrounded by a liberal support system, have never held a professional occupation or simply cannot get along well with other humans.

Life is complicated. Most people do what they are able to do. We should all speak up where we can, when we can in a way that reflects our own principles and promotes justice, equity and prosperity for everyone. We must to do that with renewed vigor, even ferocity in these times -, but some of us simply don’t have the ability to tough it out living under a bridge because free speech and principles, ya know? It’s easy to say shun your family and coworkers on the inter-tubes, but it's not “pretty simple” for many people in their actual reality and carbon-based lives.

Get an f ing library card like I did. Or just keep giving your dough to Musk Zuck Bezos et al so you can see some stupid streaming garbage or post a picture of your breakfast.

15. It's "pretty simple." Not everybody can just get a "fucking library card"
Tue Sep 30, 2025, 10:50 AM
Sep 2025

Sometimes the nearest library is 28 miles away. Sometimes they work non-traditional hours or two and three jobs. Sometimes people who do have library cards waste their time haranguing natural allies over the narcissism of minor differences when they could probably find something more effective to do with their time.

Editing to add: Thinking everybody should do things “like I did” is usually what sets things going in the wrong direction to begin with. Diversity at its core means not everyone has the same life you do. Like I said, people are doing what they can, where they can. It would be more productive to find ways to support that because they will never all become you.

16. MaddowBlog-As shutdown deadline arrives, Trump pushes racist and vulgar deepfake targeting Democrats
Tue Sep 30, 2025, 11:42 AM
Sep 2025

With time running out, the president thought it’d be good to target Democrats with a video that was equal parts vulgar, racist and dishonest.

Among the many problems with Trump targeting Democratic leaders with a racist and vulgar deepfake the day before the government shutdown deadline:

This guy’s really bad at negotiating and dealmaking. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

Steve Benen (@stevebenen.com) 2025-09-30T13:00:45.092Z

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/shutdown-deadline-arrives-trump-pushes-racist-vulgar-deepfake-targetin-rcna234644

Three years into Barack Obama’s first term, as House Republicans pushed the nation closer to a government shutdown, Donald Trump spoke up and urged the public to blame the Democratic president. “If there is a shutdown I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the president of the United States,” he told NBC News. “He’s the one that has to get people together.”

Fourteen years later, it’s Trump who’s in the White House, demonstrating his own unique approach to getting people together to prevent a shutdown. The New York Times reported:

President Trump shared an A.I.-generated video on Truth Social, mocking the Democrats’ congressional leaders hours after he met with them in negotiations to avert a government shutdown. The video, which fabricated the voice of Senator Chuck Schumer at a news conference on Monday afternoon, falsely accuses Democrats of trying to give free health care to undocumented immigrants to gain their support. In the video, the Democrats’ House leader, Representative Hakeem Jeffries, who is Black, is pictured with a fake mustache and wearing a sombrero.

.....Not surprisingly, Democrats were not amused. Jeffries spoke to MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell and called the video “disgusting,” before adding, “Bigotry will get you nowhere.”

Jeffries: "It's a disgusting video and we're gonna continue to make clear -- bigotry will get you nowhere. We are fighting to protect the healthcare of the American people in the face of an unprecedented Republican assault."

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2025-09-30T02:19:13.178Z

.....But let’s also not lose sight of the larger context: Four hours after a White House meeting with congressional leaders and roughly 28 hours before the shutdown deadline, the sitting American president thought it’d be a good idea to amplify an AI-generated video attacking Democrats — whose votes will be needed to resolve the standoff — that was equal parts vulgar, racist and dishonest.

It might seem like ages ago, but during Trump’s first campaign, he presented himself to voters as a world-class dealmaker who knew exactly how to bring Democrats and Republicans together to reach bipartisan agreements. He was the consummate negotiator, Trump said, who knew what it took to make deals happen.

A decade later, those boasts have been exposed as a sham. As Schumer summarized in response to the president’s post, “If you think your shutdown is a joke, it just proves what we all know: You can’t negotiate. You can only throw tantrums.”

The better to sell his huge lie about Dems wanting to give billions in health care to illegal immigrants.

Best bet is to let our elected leaders respond. Trump wants our unelected volunteer voices to respond. He loves getting our least effective, unelected people responding to his trolling.
