My question is now that we know without a doubt there will be no elections or at least not

Elections that it will be safe to vote in or that your vote will be counted or the machines will be safe, what do we do now?

Our chances to prevent this are in the past now, we had them starting over eight years ago but we didn’t.

America, RIP.

No I don’t mean not to fight, I’m at every protest, I send donations, I’m just hoping people will come up with something in the reality of the democracy being gone.

Being told no for years didn't deter the women's suffrage movement.

Giving up is easy, cynicism is easy. But when you are willing to have hope, to do the hard work, you can it done. Republicans didn't just give up when Democrats held Congressional majorities for most of the 20th century. They aren't giving up even though we won in interracial and same sex marriage, on civil and gay rights, abortion, etc. We have to keep working to preserve those things.

What I worry about is if we're going to have free and fair elections. Maybe I'm naive, but my instincts tell me that Americans would not put up with not having elections. I am sure we'll have elections, but I am not sure how fair they will be.

Will is be harder to vote? Yes. Will it take more effort for senior citizens and disabled people and poor people to vote? Absolutely.

But at this point our election system is still in place and at least in my rural Red county it will continue to function as always. I just requested my mail in ballot and fully anticipate voting absentee.

Because of the way our government is structured, we have to work harder as a majority to get our representation. That is simply one of the weaknesses of American government. It hands power to a minority via the Senate and through gerrymandering, and the Electoral College.

we need mass demonstrations inside and around the gated communities and individual forted homes, corporate offices, businesses of the rich elite. their money is the power behind our fascist state. it will be up to the military to either murder their own friends and relatives or join US. demonstrating in small numbers outside fascist agencies ain't going to do shit. Disrupting roads and transportation to destroy their freedom and economy, the rich elite are the soft underbelly of every fascist state.

are people who constantly underestimate what we are up against.

I heard a man on TV who wrote a book about authoritarianism and he said 2 things that stuck with me.

1. Do not listen to people who say everything is OK, everything will be fine.
2. Do not listen to people who have just recently come to the conclusion that everything is not just fine.

By only quoting the part about no elections and not the rest of it where I said or they will do blah blah blah which is more likely of course.

You would think they would focus on the problem and not me but oh well.

This happens all the time.

Of course I’m not talking about you and I know you know that but just in case.

People have been swearing that Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden, and now Trump again means we won't have fair elections again. And those people have been wrong every time.

There's nothing supporting the claims this time either. If we aren't going to have fair elections, why do we keep winning special elections, and why didn't Republicans do better in downstream races in 2024? If it won't be safe to vote, why are Republicans bothering to try to make it harder to vote? If they had some secret plan to hack the vote or to send thugs to Democratic areas, why would they bother with the other stuff?
