According to CNN, the White House has sent paperwork to the Senate to withdraw the nomination of E.J. Antoni as head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, according to three sources.
CNN's KFile reported earlier this month that Antoni operated a since deleted twitter account that featured sexually degrading attacks on Kamala Harris, derogatory remarks about gay people, conspiracy theories, and crude insults aimed at critics of Trump.
Surprised that this was apparently a bridge too far for them.

(3,775 posts)They probably knew about all this stuff and said, "You're our man."
It's possible a few Senate republicans expressed "concern," and said they weren't sure they could vote for him. I'm guessing that's why the nomination was withdrawn.
Not to worry, they'll no doubt find someone equally bad or worse to fill the position.

(10,404 posts)I have a feeling they are far worse than the typical MAGA stuff. I'm guessing several Republicans were too spooked to vote for him and said so - like what happened with Gaetz.
