More than 800 of Americas top military leaders sat silent and showed no reaction as ex-Fox News host turned Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth issued a series of new directives that will make it harder for women to serve in combat and easier for personnel to engage in hazing and bullying without repercussions at an unprecedented gathering at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia Tuesday.
The Secretary of War a title not used by the head of the U.S. military establishment since 1947 but revived by President Donald Trump earlier this month told the group of admirals, generals and their senior enlisted advisers he was ending the war on warriors and complained that too many of their peers had been put in their roles for the wrong reasons including their race and gender.
Standing in front of a large American flag backdrop, he attacked by name several of the leaders retired peers, telling them that the departments compass heading was clear.
Out with the Chiarelli, the McKenzies and the Milleys and in with the Stockdales the Schwartzkopfs and the Pattons, Hegseth said, denigrating former Army Vice Chief of Staff General Peter Chiarelli, ex-U.S. Central Command commander and Marine Corps General Kenneth McKenzie Jr, and ex-Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman and Army General Mark Milley, each of whom has been critical of Trump or his administration.

Guess that disqualifies you Kegbreath. The highest rank you achieved was O-4 AKA Major.

(15,592 posts)Because his whole focus is based on what is called "confronting brutal reality" - recognize the situation in its reality for what it is, -not what you want it to be. Don't lie, to yourself or about the situation.
Be calm and open to your surroundings, recognize the tools and opportunities around you, no matter how minor they seem.
Have faith you can act if given the opportunity, but understand you can only control what you do, not what others do.
Admiral Stockdale recognized sailors and others by what they could do, not how they looked or what they claimed. His grandson was on my ship in the early 80's as an enlisted 2nd class so he visited once with another group of Admirals interested in the project our ship supported. He was curious, appreciative of the crew's knowledge and how we developed the new technology we were testing and evaluating and it was obvious he didn't care about rank, race, gender or personal peculiarities. He cared about how you could benefit the Navy and benefit your fellow sailors.
That was Admiral Stockdale. He would politely kick Kegsbreath 's ass for his the Nationalist BS he was spouting.

(23,675 posts). . .but Stockdale had contempt for your kind and never would have tolerated what you consider leadership. He would have put you on the same level as Robert McNamara during Vietnam.
After reading from the following links, I'm sure y'all would tell Hogsbreath to take Stockdale's name out of his toilet mouth:
