VA-GOV: Spanberger Holds 10-Point Lead for Virginia Governor

A new Emerson College survey of the Virginia Governor’s race finds Abigail Spanberger (D) leading Winsome Earle-Sears (R), 52% to 42%, with 5% of voters undecided.

Those who have already voted early in Virginia report voting for Spanberger, 60% to 38%, while likely voters who have yet to cast a ballot support Spanberger 50% to 43%.

Sears is running the worst campaign since McAuliffe 4 years ago. She isn't meeting with business leaders or constituents, she's not doing a lot of interviews (honestly because she is just obviously unhinged), had to cancel her bus tour because no one was showing up, and ducked debating Spanberger at VSU.
All of her ads are doubling down on culture war issues, specifically anti-trans. She's following Younkin's playbook when he hammered us four years ago with all CRT all the time.
I'm just genuinely shocked she's the candidate. They barely let her in front of a microphone after she went off the rails doing press after the Huguenot graduation shooting.

how the EFF is it THIS close? The Repuke candidate is a loon for lack of a better word, but God knows they are a party full of Loons and it starts at the top

7. Lots of government and government related workers in northern VA?

I lived and worked in the D.C. area (Annandale) and my neighbors were all government or government related workers. One worked at the Pentagon, a naval officer who was an architect. I worked in the district, tho, and was in a carpool (very common at the time, dunno about now) so you could get in faster on the Beltway by traveling in the carpool lane.

At the time I worked at the lobbying office of the ACLU. It was an interesting time (35 years ago). Coming from New York, I thought it was astounding that the (then) subway/rail transit closed down at 6 pm. I missed NY terribly.

The Kennedy Center had just opened and my then husband got a job as the film archivist.

It was an interesting time but I am glad I moved to New England (and esp. New Haven).
