It should be at home. A general strike. And we should all stay home until the felon resigns and ICE is removed from our streets. Because frankly it is becoming increasingly unsafe for people to go outside. And apparently for some, jsut to be at home.
This needs to stop.

(6,732 posts)You're asking dozens of millions of people to stay home from their jobs and get fired, people who have families to support. People aren't going to do that.

How do you even communicate that to people?
I mean France strikes every time theres a new cut to any social service. Surely a full on dictatorship with masked thugs dragging people off the streets should be enough for us?

(3,141 posts)The thing about no kings day is that pepple going out a at once has the opposite impact on these companies that enable him. People buying food using Uber, etc puts more money in their pockets as they continue to kow tow to him and suck up to him at his meetings. It needs to end.

(1,531 posts)...but it's my belief that until electoral pain can be brought to politicians, economic pain being brought to states, institutions, and corporations would be the speediest way to get change. I've mentioned before that minority and female student athletes deciding not to attend colleges in Texas would mean more in that state than a month of protests. Disney, Target, and Tesla can tell you that.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
