(6,657 posts)How utterly and deeply insulting. How did he think these gentlemen would take something like that? Trumps people continue to amaze me with their sheer ineptitude and downright stupidity. How on earth can they imagine that they represent the superior race? They are so embarrassing and infuriating.

When we returned to the US after serving overseas we could not get over how rude, ill mannered, and racist American civilians were.
Even today if I meet an Air Force family I immediately totally relax.
They have my back.

(4,109 posts)the Golf tournament the "Ryder Cup". That was more appalling than what I have ever seen at a sports tournament. And the response from the president of the PGA, and the USA team captain was worst.
It is appalling because it had never happened before at this level, Rory McIlroy's wife was hit in the head with a beer bottle, she had a hat that seemed to protect her, but the slurs that were targeted at her were despicable. And the president of the PGA answered that "he could understand the abuse to Rory because Rory is so good, but the abuse to other European players was uncalled for." (I am paraphrasing), so it is OK to abuse Rory and his wife, but the others? they are not as good, so spare them. Of course the guy went to retract his words, at least he didn't say "they took my words out of context", but the public apology was as bad, and then he went on a "save my self" act by apologizing directly to Rory and his wife.
What I am getting at is that trump opened a can of worms, and now the worms are "unleashed".

(4,709 posts)He spent hours every day on the radio setting the table for the behavior we see from those people. He had the largest right-wing audience and for all followers in RW media to get a share of that audience, they had to dive down into scum to appeal.
Before him, republicans were already good at condescending to everyone else and scapegoating minorities, but for Limbaugh and his ilk, that wasn't ugly enough.

(42,315 posts)We're all getting mighty sick of it. Chump's rude behavior has set the tone for rudeness all over the country, and also many other parts of the world. Wherever Americans (I'm talking about Repukes here) go, rudeness and bad behavior follow.

(72,485 posts)We would have lost. It was due to the relative compassion, our adherence to the Geneva Convention articles regarding the treatment of prisoners of war that so many German soldiers surrendered rather than fighting to the death. Rumors (which were true) spread among German soldiers in the field that POW's were fed and treated better by the Americans than by their own officers.
Can't expect that drunken shitstain to know that.

Hes a profoundly unstable individual and should at the bare minimum be institutionalized and best case scenario incarcerated. Oh, did I also mention hes a POS.

(4,854 posts)It s been around for a long time as gallows humor among military bunkmates after a couple beers. Emphasis on the junior enlisted cannon fodder who think this is witty.
By using it in a serious, senior officer context, Hegseth just shows everyone how completely unfit he is for his office, and how poorly he understood his audience. He is a brain damaged clown.
