This Country Needs A Hero

Yeah I know, Gavin Newsom is trying, Pritzker is trying, AOC and Bernie traveled extensively across the country.

The march to autocracy moves on.

We need a hero to rally around, doesn't even have to be a Democrat, must be a fearless warrior with charisma.

He/she would get tons of support. I thought about this after I got 4 more texts so far today asking for money. I will take out a loan for a hero.

Maybe Newsom or Pritzker will evolve into a hero?

No one is coming to save us, but together, we can save ourselves.

5. I think it's going to be an unlikely candidate.

Kimmel and Colbert have been outspoken, and they have gotten people's attention. I don't know that they would be the "hero" that is needed, but I think we can learn a lesson from them. That lesson is:

Stand up against the bully!!!!!

We don't really have any war heroes available. We need someone who can inspire the young people while not alienating the older people who are the ones that actually make it to the voting booth.

6. Just as one man is not the problem with this country, one will not be the solution either.

The Dotard sure seems like the disease, and much of the popular narrative is framed that way, but he's just a symptom. The US is a sick, rotten society. Trump is a manifestation of that sickness, and exploits it, but is not the origin of it.

But the same is true of the other side of the coin. One person won't save us, one person won't make us better. A cult of personality cannot last long enough to do what needs to be done. We don't need a hero to rally around, we need a cause or principle to rally around -- which can outlive any one candidate/office-holder.

7. I am hoping that something like the Orange Revolution in Ukraine takes place.

Demonstrations by the general population evolved into an overthrow of the government. Their rallying point was crooked elections, but our rallying point could be something like the government ignoring constitutional restraints on its power.

8. I think Gov Pritzker is our best bet for 2028. His family is from Ukraine and his hatred of ruskies runs deep and hot.

Plus, he has the money to back himself.

He has no fear of kraznov, does not hesitate to call the slob out for what he is.

The people of Illinois absolutely love him.
