It's the kind of cringy stuff that impugns the church's earthly mission, and makes non-Christians roll their eyes at the thought of being part of a faith that has been monetized, politicized, weaponized and distorted almost beyond Jesus' ability to recognize it.

That's because the struggle for some Christians has always been that the Kingdom of Heaven has never jibed with how we think of it.

In too many cases, we long to be conquerors, not foot-washers.

We want to sit at the table, not serve it.

She hit her target. I can't wait for the letters to the editor.

Christianity has been largely hijacked.

And many leaders let it slide.

IMNSHO, "heaven" is the exact opposite of what most people want. It is, in fact, hell for them.
