He can command his political puppets to send the Congress home so they cannot muster enough members for a specific vote and he can threaten everyone that disagrees with him. He can threaten war against the "enemy within". He can lie and brag about all the great things he has accomplished when reality is the exact opposite.

But he cannot hide in his corner forever. He will need the nourishment of approval from his followers. The corner is an isolated place to be.
