1. I have sympathy for the Texas NG troops being sent to Chicago.

Most are citizen soldiers that have families and jobs and are being used by "Wheels" Abbott as political pawns. There is no shortage of ignorant brainwashed partisans in the Texas guard like anywhere else. It’s unlikely that anything good comes from the situation in Chicago. More likely a guardsman embarrasses him or herself with something like solicitation or drug charges or possibly an unlawful use of force hurts a citizen.

I think the courts should step in immediately before more harm is done. These kinds of actions have never been the purpose of the National Guard (deployment for political purposes).
