With Adams out of the NY Mayor's race, the sexual predator gains in the polls.

I fixed the headline for Politico.

NEW YORK — Andrew Cuomo is gaining on front-runner Zohran Mamdani in a New York City mayoral field that no longer includes incumbent Eric Adams, a poll released Thursday found.

A Quinnipiac University survey — the first major poll conducted since Adams suspended his campaign on Sept. 28 — found the ex-governor receiving a 10-point boost even as Mamdani maintains a commanding double-digit lead in the contest to lead the nation’s largest city. Adams wasn’t included in the poll, but remains on the November ballot. . .

Mamdani, a state assemblymember, received 46 percent of the vote to Cuomo’s 33 percent. Republican Curtis Sliwa received 15 percent, the poll found.

The results for Mamdani and Sliwa are essentially unchanged from a Quinnipiac poll released on Sept. 10. Cuomo, though, drew 23 percent in that survey, while Adams received 12 percent.

It would take something pretty stunning for Mamdani to lose.

This has nothing to do with disarray. There is only one Democrat nominee in the mayor's race: Mamdani.

They constantly publish stories like "Ooooh, race tightening", or "OMG, that Dem candidate said something inappropriate once, how will that impact them as they take on Donnie Dipshit?", or "Donnie Dipshit's Economy is Tanking. How is this Bad for the Dems?"

It's a thinly veiled attempt to depress Dem turnout, or make Retrumplican wins seem inevitable.

Ouchies.

The funny part is that if Sliwa drops out, his 15% won't go to Cuomo. The doo-da-doo NYC Republicans that would vote for Sliwa would just sit on their hands and stew, like the petulant losers they are.

But I think the Republican is already wealthy so bribing him to drop out won't work.

I think Adams dropped out after some bribe.

The money doesn't want a Democratic Socialist to win.

Cuomo would be adequate as Mayor (he certainly has administrative experience), but Mamdami has the juice.

I just don’t see in the current political environment that is clearly calling for change that an incumbent candidate with the record of Cuomo will win. I just don’t see it. Headlines may make it seem like he’s gaining to bring in clicks and views but I doubt it’s even close come Election Day.
