On Oct. 11, 1991, testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Anita Hill accused Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment; Thomas re-appeared before the panel to denounce the proceedings as a “high-tech lynching.”

2. "Who has put pubic hair on my Coke?"

Hill accused Thomas of making inappropriate remarks. She said one such comment came as Thomas was drinking a soft drink in the office.

"He got up from the table at which we were working, went over to his desk to get the Coke, looked at the can and asked, 'Who has put pubic hair on my Coke?'" Hill told senators.

Hill also testified that Thomas would boast about being well-endowed and has experience in pleasing women intimately. She also said she felt uncomfortable about her job situation.

3. I remember watching those hearings all day

Even at work we had it on in the conference room. Took a break for lunch and a bunch of us went to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in Hollywood ... saw part of Boyz II Men in there eating. Everyone was talking about it. Hearings ran into the evening as I recall (I think the rebuttal witnesses of Hill’s testimony went until 8-9 pm on the west coast). Can’t believe that was over 30 years ago ...

We had no idea how hardcore, rock solid of a conservative Thomas was then.
