(5,076 posts)Old Darth Cheney has apparently been gelded. He has no power or influence to do anything about, well, anything. His day has passed with nothing to show for it except his blood money.

(18,181 posts)a lifetime of politics builds contacts that can come in handy later down the road, like if Been A Dick Donald has Liz indicted.

(114,683 posts)R's--many who may well be "NEVER TRUMP" and anti-MAGA. I'd bet a lot of them are deeply embedded in the CIA.

(131,231 posts)as bad as it was, is now considered by MAGA to be RINO and is despised almost as much as Democrats.

(131,231 posts)it could be because that could open a whole can of worms about J6 that Trump doesn't want opened. The bogus prosecutions of Comey, James and (so far) Bolton would not lead to the presentation of trial evidence directly relating to Trump, but going after Cheney and Kinzinger definitely would, unless they can be fake-indicted for something lame and bogus like fake mortgage fraud and fake lying to Congress.

(131,231 posts)which is why, if Trump wants to torment the J6 people he'll have to come up with something bogus (like mortgage fraud), and that doesn't involve him in a way that uncomfortable evidence might come out.

(95,269 posts)Those given pardons include Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; retired Gen. Mark Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; and the lawmakers and staffers from the House committee that investigated the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021. Those lawmakers include former GOP Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, and Sen. Adam Schiff of California.
None has been charged with crimes, but all were believed to be among the targets as Trump promises "retribution" in his second term for his political enemies. The pardons covered unspecified actions from Jan. 1, 2014, through Monday.
