I've been to 33 protests and the only time anything even close to violence was at the 2nd protest I attended (to impeach tRump in 2017).

You know who they were? Two dudes who drove down to San Diego from LA to disrupt the rally. They were up front where the guest speakers were and where I was standing. They had air horns and whistles to drown the speakers' voices out. A city council member called for the local sheriffs to stop them. The local sheriffs support tRump so they were no help. However, I found my way over to where the 2 dudes were with the sheriffs and that's how I learned that they were PROUD BOYS! I never heard of Proud Boys until then. I never heard them ar ANY of the protests I attended in the years since then. They should be called Proud Babies, an angry poodle is scarier.

8. I don't agree with Antifa

Yes, we are anti-fascist but antifa has used violence to shut down Nazi and White Supremacist rallies. We have a free speech tradition in this country. If Fascists want to hold a rally they need to be left enough room to do it and the response should be a counter rally right next to theirs. Preferably one about 50 times the size of the Fascist rally. Violence makes us all look bad.

10. That's Black Bloc, not antifa

Blac Bloc is a bunch of anarchists who wear black with black balaclava masks and whose intent is to cause violence and destruction. They show up at left leaning demonstrations all the time. They have no particular political position, they just like to make trouble.

OP and the media make a mistake when they conflate the two. Antifa is not a real organization, it’s just a name for the many people who are against fascism.—an American tradition. The Trump admin doesn’t make that mistake. They know very well that antifa and Black Blic are two different things. They use Black Blocs violence to demonize the left.

Don’t fall for it and don’t push right wing characterizations of what decent, patriotic Americans are doing.
