Vile text messages from Young Republican group chat are exposed --with epithets, racism and Hitler praise the norm

Vile text messages sent by Young Republican leaders have been leaked, exposing how rampant racism, antisemitism, misogyny and violent discourse were allegedly the norm in the chat group.

Members of the Telegram chat group titled “RESTOREYR WAR ROOM” reportedly said that rape was “epic,” referred to Black people as “monkeys,” praised Adolf Hitler, and suggested that their political opponents should be sent to the gas chambers in leaked messages obtained by Politico.

The Young Republican leaders in the chat were from the New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont chapters of the national movement, according to the outlet.

They all say "I'm sorry but I think the messages are fake. I'm still sorry though. Although I think the messages are fake."

She grilled university presidents for allowing protests on their campuses but endorsed a Young Republican who said vile antisemitic, racist, violent things. Glorifying rape, praising Hitler - what does Stefanik say about this?

Definitely not a reflection of the immorality of the modern Republican party or a deal breaker for allowing these people to continue to represent the Republican party.

Since my dry sarcasm apparently doesn't translate well to text, adding the sarcasm emoji.

Your post, without it, can be construed as excusing this behavior.

Jus sayin.

I'm not.

They've been these people since I was in college, probably before that.

Seriously, I was in college in the 80's in freaking Madison and they were the same, except they couldn't text, so they just said it out loud for everyone to hear and didn't pretend to be anything other than the racist sacks of shit they were (and still, very probably, are).

Drinking beer, throwing beer cans at people along with racial slurs and rape talk.

Very very typical. I saw it all the time in college in the 1980s.

It will never go away it seems, they hate something more than they love anything.
