... I can do one, with my skinny arms! He's doing the easier, underhand lift... seems strange that he is struggling, with his knees raised, to do one pull-up.

That was the last pullup in a contest he was having with RFK Jr. He had done a large number of pullups before that and was struggling to do one more at the end.

I guess I had heard late-night comedians making fun of that pull-up, and hadn't researched it.
Glad you found it funny, even though it was misleading.

And BTW, today's kids can do pull-ups better. Whether the "girl" way or the "boy" way.

10. That's not a pull-up, it's an attempt at a chin up....very different. Real pull ups are much harder

If yer palms are facing you are doing a chin up and you use a much different muscle group. Chin ups require much less strength than a pull up which means your palms are facing away from you, an over hand grip.
