There is an old saying that if you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. Republicans, of all stripes, including family and friends, can no longer sit back and watch our country and our democracy disintegrate and say nothing. Their silence is not acceptable. My words will have no impact on what they say or don't say, but it is imprinted in the hearts and minds of those that do not follow the lie. Discard the truth at your own peril.
They cheered as their leader incited a mob to attack our Capitol because he could not accept defeat. He sat in the White House for hours as they ransacked the offices of Congressmen and Senators. Then he lied about it. They believed him and they cannot escape that act of dishonor. They do not get a free pass. Ever.

(5,625 posts)One California Republican is dealing with his tough reelection odds by doing something hardly any Republicans in the entire country are willing to do: defy the partys national leadership.
Kevin Kiley, the Republican congressman representing Californias 3rd Congressional District, is facing an existential threat to his career thanks to Proposition 50. If Gov. Gavin Newsoms redistricting measure is approved next month, Kileys right-leaning district, which includes Tahoe and some of Sacramentos suburbs, will be gerrymandered into a Democratic-leaning seat, and he would be expected to lose reelection next year.
