Source: WHRO.ORG

Sentara Health Plans, which provides health insurance coverage to nearly one million members in Virginia and Florida, will end three Medicare Advantage plans that serve members with drug benefits and certain chronic conditions.

Coverage for the affected plans will end Dec. 31, 2025, and the company plans to cut 220 positions as a result.

Sentara spokesperson Dale Gauding said the change follows a review prompted by tightening federal regulations and reduced reimbursement rates that have made the products financially unsustainable.

Sentara is basically the only game in town for the Tidewater Virginia area.

A huge part of this story is going to be the elderly stuck in these Medicare Advantage plans.

I guess someone in their 80s could switch back to traditional Medicare, but there is no way they are going to be able to afford, let alone get, supplemental Medicare coverage.

All part of the GrOP-ers plan.

Hurry up and die Grandma!!!!

That the supplement plans, especially the good ones, generally won’t be available to them if they try to switch back to traditional Medicare later in life.
