two things that keep me up with night sweats.

if they orange asshole wasn't bombing these boats, I honestly believe he would be venting whatever insanity on us. I think someone told him to bomb the "drug boats" instead of protesters here in the states. given the landscape of things and his eroded brain, it's not that much of a stretch to believe.

the other thing, the thing that freaks me the fuck out: the shut down. This is the long play by the repukes. They have no intention of ever opening the government back up. this allows the orange asshole and his puppet master miller to do as they please for as long as they want. but here it the kicker that gives me night sweats: as things start to really fall apart with no functioning government, the orange idiot will then find whatever excuse he wants (mostly blaming dems) for the failure of the government to operate, thus calling for national emergency. I believed this will happen sometime within the next two months. Then as things really spin completely out of control, he will then call for the suspension of the midterms.

Am I the only one who has trouble sleeping lo these pasts 11 months?

I just want to leave but too old and much stuff to pack. The games republicans play, the grifting (using our taxes), the overall corruption is astonishing and people will die due to their shit show

No. Really. Worrying is only worth it if it can drive you to a solution. If there’s no action you can plan for or take right now, save yourself, go restore your strength in peace and come back stronger.

We need you for the long haul.

States run their elections, Trump can’t “suspend” them.

The US has held elections during every war, including the Civil war and the aftermath of 9/11.

Trump has declared eight national emergencies since January- did you know that?

If Trump thought he could suspend elections, he wouldn’t be pushing so hard for red states to gerrymander their districts, would he?

Most importantly, you seem to have forgotten the most important Golden Rule of surviving the Trump era, a truth that will ground you in the reality based community:

Trump is not omnipotent, and the states and the people are not powerless.

This axiom is proven on a daily basis, despite the multitude of disgusting destructive, anti democracy events that are horrifying us.

There must be in order to boast about a thin veneer of democracy in the eyes of the world. They’ll try to screw with the elections, but there will be elections.
