So have been vaxxed for covid since the first one, and over the past few years for the one-time shingrix (2 doses), pneumonia, rsv, and flu and have never had any side effects beyond little to no soreness the first day and yesterday a short nap. The only glitch yesterday was the usual pharmacists' using the Rx card that bounces for diabetic supplies until they finally use the group advantage card that works, despite my telling them at the start which card to use. So the dude who did the poking was good humored rattled off what the potential side effects might be and I told him I've never had any reactions. Then, he said, "I wish more people would get it," and I, despite the usual paranoia about injecting politics with strangers, said, because he started it, "Well, the people in charge are telling everybody not to do this or that..." And he laughed, so it was all right. So today Lucky the dog gets his rabies vax. And tomorrow the yellow shirt.

(25,623 posts)Next morning woke up with a headache and my calf muscles were sore, especially my right calf. Still sore but getting better. First time I've had any reaction (other than sore arms)
Maybe I'll get one at a time from now on.
Got Shingrix couple of years ago
Got Prevnar (pneumonia) last year.
Haven't had the RSV shot.

(38,735 posts)I generally get a fever of 103 (all vaccines, not just COVID, since my first bout with COVID). All but one of the 10 (I think) vaccinations, I've gotten a month of headaches. The last were severe enough to send me to the ER.
I am hoping that this time will be different. The one previous vaccination in which I didn't get headaches was Moderna. But the one after it which sent me to the ER was ALSO Moderna.
I got the new version of Moderna. It has a lower dose of mRNA. I didn't get a fever this time - the first time I've had a vaccination (any type) without a fever since June 2022. I'm hoping that means I also get to skip the headaches . . . but since those start about 3-4 weeks out, it will be a while before I know.
