So, word around the campfire

Is that DoJ is pushing for a gun registry. Not surprising given AG Stetson’s history.

Plenty of chatter on this on the intertubes.

The Constitution is under attack and the 1st 10 amendments are being systematically removed. Speech? Only protected for maga. Press? You can only print what we tell you. Unreasonable search and seizure? We can break down your door and drag you into the street and there's nothing you can do about it. We'll steal your shit, too. Right to due process? We will disappear you to a foreign prison where you will be tortured. No warrant, no evidence, no attorneys, no trial needed.

Obviously there are concerns with trump doing it vs. someone decent like Biden.

And the MAGA crowd would not.

It would also go straight to the courts and be found, likely, unconstitutional.

Doesn’t mean it’s true.

The Trump administration will never propose, and the republican congress would never pass, a law requiring a national gun registry.

Maybe requiring all non-citizens to register their guns? I could see something along those lines, but even then, it’s a stretch.

It was a translation of the law Hitler used. Registered the guns, disarmed the Jewish and the "leftists" before they got to rounding people up.

At the time of this writing, Snopes found no evidence that Bondi or the DOJ were creating a registry of gun owners. Though a federal judge did order three gun owner organizations or associations to hand over verified member lists to government bodies, the same judge later vacated that judgment. It was unclear at the time of this writing what a revised judgment in Reese v. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms & Explosives would entail.

The Oct. 7 judgment did not permit Bondi or the DOJ to create a gun owner registry and would have only released outdated member information from the three groups involved in the lawsuit. There was no evidence to suggest Bondi or the DOJ would have used that information to create a registry, as Dhillon wrote the DOJ had not asked for the information.
