50 and got shingles so bad it attacked his vocal chords and for a few weeks he needed a feeding tube. He had some temporary facial paralysis. He had really bad pain. Morphine didn't help. High dose Gabapentin did.

Good thing he did completely heal. But he was in the hospital a few weeks.

So when I got a fever for a few days with the shingles vax I was cool with that

it has less mRNA than the Pfizer one.

I had the smallest immediate reaction in 3 years. Since my first bout with COVID, which messed up my immune system, I've been getting a 103 fever with every vaccination (not just COVID).

I had no fever at all this time. Minor sore arm.

. . . I'm hoping the lack of an immediate reaction means I don't get the long-term reaction (a month of headaches, severe enough to send me to the ER). I won't know for a few weeks whether I escape that reaction.

The new Moderns vaccine only has 20% of the amount of mRNA in the prior Moderna vaccine (10 micrograms instead of 50). The lower dose proved to be more effective than the higher dose, especially in patients over 65.

Both of my injection sites felt slightly sore for the rest of the day, but that was gone the next morning. I got Moderna.

It was hard for me to get. I'm in Indiana. The hospital that my doctor's office is associated with did not have it. Neither did the county Department of Health. Local pharmacies had Pfizer, but I've always done Moderna and wanted to stick with that. Costco had both, but they, like every pharmacy in town was requiring a Rx. Luckily (???) I have a lot of comorbidities that are on the CDC list so my doctor was very happy to write me a script.

I was going to get my booster next month as part of my physical, but phoned a doctor I know socially in August and was greeted with, “There is a HUGE outbreak of Covid in Ventura, go get your booster now. “ She explained that she was making it her business to greet every caller with that message.

So I assuredly did — hubby and I went to our internist’s office and got the double jab of flu and Covid, because our doc has read studies that taking them together creates a synergy of immune response.

ETA: hubby had a bit of a reaction, kind of moped around for a few days, then was fine.

My arm was sore for 2 days, I got both shots in the same arm.

I had just come back from my doctor who injects 32 needles into my scalp, neck and forehead for Botox for daily migraines. They hurt like hell but are not even close to the agony of a 4 day headache.

The Covid and Flu shot were painless. I didn't even know she gave me the shots until she said she was already done. Compared to Botox injection pain, the boosters were nothing.

Both in the left arm. Felt crummy for 1-day with a very slight temp. Honestly, I thought I was going to feel much worse than I did. I've had both Moderna and Pfizer; I never feel anything with Pfizer but with Moderna it's almost always a bit of a kick in the pants (but it's over within 1-2 days). I've had COVID twice and although neither time it was terrible, I had lingering effects for awhile (especially the second time).

I had no bad facts other than of course your arms are a little sore to injection into your muscle it's always going to happen but other than that nothing.
I've been very lucky though I never had a reaction to the shots. And I've had all of them I even did my shingles shots over the last year.

Covid in one are and the Flu in the other. Some very minor soreness in the Covid arm....but I don't generally have much reaction to vaccines....even Tetanus only gets a little sore in the arm.

No reaction from either. My son claims he’s always had a mild reaction (soreness and possible low-grade fever for a day or two), which he attributes to it being a good take.

I’m a pharmacy tech attached to a hospital, so I’m current on everything. Honestly, the only one I had a real reaction to was the Shingrix (a two-shot deal), which left me sore for two or three days, and is the most likely vaccine to give you a reaction. Compared to actual shingles, it’s an easy choice.

Take some Tylenol/ibuprofen/naproxen after if you feel you need something. It’ll pass.

I had no reaction at all, aside from a slight soreness in my bicep that ended in around 24 hours.
I got the new Pfizer variant.

just wanted to point out that German studies of the nasal spray Azelastine show that it has an immunizing effect against Covid, as well as other viral infections including the common cold, according to a doctor I spoke with, and may be more effective than the vaccination itself? Currently it's used as an anti-histamine type spray for allergies.

I'm taking a shit-load of other medications and I'm just getting over an infection. So I'm not sure I'm giving you an accurate picture. Nonetheless, I was a bit groggy this morning, but feel fine now.

I normally don't react to these (outside of injection site soreness) and had no symptoms the past couple years. During the early boosters period for the COVID shot, it would take a couple days for me to react with the fatigue and aches.

But this year's round hit me like a Mack truck the very next day!

Was a bit better the day after that and I was fine by the 3rd day. Not sure which shot did that but yikes!

I haven't had a sore arm like this since the first shot. I think this was my 6th or 7th.
I had my flu shot in the same arm two weeks ago and a tetanus in the other arm. That could have been a factor.

left a hot lump on my arm for two day and it was sore there. It also stung a bit going in. The person giving the shot hit a vessel of some sort because I had a drop of blood running down my arm, so maybe that was why I got a lump.
