Anyone who idolizes Hitler is historically illiterate.

I always laugh when I see these folks who put Hitler on some sort of pedestal.

To be honest... he fails on pretty much every line.

He was a little dude... not an Aryan marvel, possibly Jewish ancestors... not athletic, not particularly smart.
Was an acceptable foot soldier but not a hero or even an officer...

As a war strategist, he was awful... I mean truly terrible. Just about every decision was flawed and then he started overruling the Generals who were smart... replacing his own idiocy for their experience.

Oh but a great author right? Not really... Hess probably wrote or corrected large sections of Mein Kampf...

A great proponent of Aryan faith too? Not really. He got swept up in the pseudo science and rantings of Himmler and others...

Even the Nazis who love the Holocaust angle of Hitler... it wasn't even his idea. He was cool with settling them in Madagascar.

It was the Nazi bean counters who said it was cheaper to kill them...

He spent the last year of his life drugged out of his skull, as a madman overruling his Generals, moving phantom armies and demanding attacks from forces that didn't exist.

And then surrounded on all sides, put a gun to his head.

There is/was nothing to idolize about Hitler... he was a clownish little dwarf with a double digit IQ and an overbearing sense of self.

Those morons walking around with nazi paraphernalia are repping for one of the biggest clowns in history.

but they rejected him twice. He wasn't bad at architectural drawing but he couldn't draw people, and his style was described as that of a “moderately ambitious amateur.” Maybe if he'd been a better artist he wouldn't have become an evil dictator.

He would have loved to live the Bohemian lifestyle as a successful artist.

I mean the people in that chat are hardly an example of aryan supremacy but desperately want to not be seen as losers. Fits right in with worshipping Hitler.

As a youth I idolized Captain Kirk, Sean Connery and Roger Moore...

With a little bit of Elvis and Batman mixed in...

It never occurred to me that whiny losers were cool.

Captain Kirk was leading an integrated space ship challenging our sense of the world, Batman and Bond, ordinary men fighting to save the world. Elvis, the guy with the moves that made all the ladies swoon. Not a whiny loser among them (okay Burt Ward's Robin's outfit was a questionable choice). These clowns admired the guy who told them that they are superior even though everyone else sees them as failures. Hitler was worse at everything other than giving a rousing speech than the generals, than Himmler, etc. These clowns aren't able to succeed on their own merits, and have to buy in to the narrative that they are just naturally better since they can't actually demonstrate being better in any fashion.

Other talents (I’m not), I’d put Mussolini ahead of Adolph. Mussolini, for all that he was a brute, a tyrant, and a murderer, at least had some talent as a writer.

You've absolutely nailed it. The German citizens - all except the craziest cultists - hated Hitler and feared him.

Hitler never won an election in Germany. If he had run for public office he would have lost, and that's the truth. As scary and messed up as things were in Germany in the early 1930's, they still wouldn't have elected him Chancellor or President. Hitler got himself appointed Vice Chancellor and less than a year later Hitler became Reichsführer (President) when von Hindenburg died in office.

Once Hitler became Reichsführer, he declared martial law and abolished elections for the next 11 years! Any pretense of "democracy" disappeared almost overnight. I agree with your premise ... anyone who goes around saying they "admire" or "love" Hitler is a total idiot and completely illiterate.

Hitler’s Circle of Evil. Fascinating, sickening, enlightening… Worth a watch. It’s about the sociopaths behind the sociopath. None are worth idolizing.
