My doctor recently prescribed it to me after a similar medicine I had been taking for years was no longer covered by my insurance and then their first alternative was discontinued by the manufacturer shortly after I started on it...

I was hesitant because I heard the horror stories and didn't feel it was worth it all things considered, but it ended up essentially being the only medicine in its class at full strength that my insurance would cover.

I won't get into my story because this is already a long enough post, but within six weeks I had gone to the ER twice for Ozempic-related gastrointestinal issues and I'm still not fully back to normal after having been off it for a month. I have seen improvement, though, which is a good sign since some people's symptoms apparently never get better and they are left with lifelong side effects from it...

4. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with Ozempic

I recently started Mounjaro. So far my blood sugars have dropped significantly. Not much weight loss so far. Hope this works for me because I need to lose weight so I can hopefully get some of my other conditions under control.

8. I feel you. Put it this way. I was in a diaper for 2 weeks because of that stuff. Then it crashed my glucose below 70

It was sub 50 once. My ex is a full blown insulin diabetic since she was 6 so for 15 years I learned about as much as you can about it.
Glucose levels that low will kill you. Took a month for the gastro side effects to go away. I'm back on Januvia after proving to the insurance I couldn't take Ozempic type drugs.

I know why people lose weight, they can't eat! Yeah its some scary stuff. They need more research, especially the gastro side effects. There are forums full of people like us that this stuff nearly killed.

for diabetes, but on my Wellcare plan I would have a co-payment of $550 a month for it at the beginning, so I turned it down.

5. My October copay for Ozempic - $0. It was $0.21 in September, $14 in August and $23 per month before that.

I’m on Medicare Advantage thru Kaiser Permanente.

Last year, I was paying $184 a month due to the Medicare donut hole. Thank you Joe Biden for getting rid of the donut hole!

BTW - I’ve been on Ozempic for at least 3 years and have had no medical issues. Have lost 45lbs.
