San Diego had over 80,000 protesters (3 protests merged)

This was my 34th protest and I never saw anything like this one. It was like a circus and Halloween rolled into one. Huge 6' inflatable costumes were everywhere. It was 83 degrees so I'm glad people didn't drag their dogs along. The street is too hot for their feet and it's too crowded so they get stomped upon.

Lots of seniors are finally showing up in large numbers, too.

I never saw people selling stuff before at the other protests. Flags for $10 and RESIST signs for $12.

No problems parking and NO VIOLENCE as I knew it would be. The thing is is that when you have tens of thousands of people so close together there really isn't any room for violence and the crowd would nail them in a nano second if they tried, at least in San Diego. I think the MAGA instigators were disappointed.

as a low estimate. Since I've been to so many protests I'm pretty good at judging the crowd sizes. Definately over 80,000!

I gave them out when I got there and they went like hotcakes. I didn’t have any intention of selling them.

on the ground with a "take one, they're free" sign. No one took any though, at least from what I witnessed. Is that odd?

I wear my Bernie 2016 shirt to all the protests. It gets lots of positive comments. I bought two understated Harvard T-shirts that I wore around ruby red Edgewater, FL. Thought they would get more of a reaction than they did. Also seeing very few red hats compared to a year ago.

Unless there's a clicker, they always like to pretend 10 to 15% are downtown homeless or vagrants.

I also did the No Kings March in June and today's crowd was, IMO, as large or larger than the one in June. I took the ferry from Coronado to downtown San Diego and it was fairly full but there were some empty seats because they had to leave the dock at 9:30 to maintain their schedule. There were still about 50 - 70 people waiting for the next ferry. I carried a YES on 50 sign on a six foot pole so I could hoist it above the other signs.

I took the ferry back to Coronado after the march and I carried my sign down Orange Ave, our main street, and got a good reception for it. Not one person made a comment or gesture against it and Coronado tends to vote for republicans.

there was a dad and his little daughter sitting in lawn chairs in their front yard with a dozen NO KINGS signs around them. That makes me smile!

Two stations had nothing. The third had some mealy mouthed female reading copy that said a few hundred people" while an overhead shot of Rte 66 showed the street to be absolutely packed with people, cut to a reporter on the ground who admitted to thousands but said he was stuck in a traffic jam (translation: didn't take it seriously enough to start out in time to cover it) cut very quickly from him to some twit of a woman using a sing-song voice like everybody else is a mentally deficient toddler who needs to know the protest was (wait for it) ANTI AMERICAN. This crap is in true blue NM, READ THE ROOM, GUYS!
And y'all wonder why I don't own a TV these days.

It's a waste of time to listen anything they report. They are partially responsible for the damn situation we are in as a country right now. I hope all their rating continue to tank and they lose money. We need boycotts like we did when Jimmy Kimmel was screwed. That worked very well.

Too bad we can't do a general strike in the US. A few people were discussing that at the NO KINGS protest.

that it was lower than the 80K No Kings rally in June.

Everyone that attended the June rally, said today's was larger, yet CBS-SD is estimating 25K?
Is this intentional or is prior attendees mistakenly believing that today's was bigger?

Asking for a friend.

I've learned that if you multiply THEIR estimation by 10 you get the real number of protesters.

There are some people who actually do the math and those are the people I take seriously.

MSM does this BS all the time! I hate them since they are greedy liars who will report anything their corporate bosses tell them.
