(10,305 posts)California's Proposition 50 is a legislative constitutional amendment on the November 4, 2025, special election ballot. It would temporarily suspend the state's independent redistricting process and use a new, legislatively drawn congressional map for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections. The measure was introduced by Governor Gavin Newsom and the Democratic-controlled legislature in response to mid-decade partisan redistricting in states like Texas.
