13. I was out of the news loop all day.

First thing I did was scan the Net for reports of "violence" at any of the protests. Pleasantly surprised that there were apparently none that were significant enough to rank as breaking news.

And the turnout was impressive...different estimates on total number but one was 6 million.

I don't believe many immigrants or other POCs were out today. The major participation is from the older, white baby-boomers plus Gen-Zs who are starting to wake up and pay more attention.

For that reason ICE had no interest in today's activities. But there were probably a lot of surveillance drones flying around taking pictures.

Like someone posted upthread, the ICE goons are only interested in grabbing people when they least expect it, and when they can't fight back. Today's rallies were the opposite!

26. How do you tell if someone is an immigrant

based just on appearance? I know, I know, ICE just picks up people the think are "suspicious" without any proof, but that's hard to do in a crowd. Most of the people I saw at the local No Kings looked White, although the town is only about 70% White. Some younger Hispanic and Asian appearing people - I stayed mostly at the edges of the crowd, though.

I truly DID expect to see a presence, but was very happy to have been proved wrong. There were probably over 100 of us protesting and ICE and "Kidnapping" were on several signs. I don't think they want to deal with large crowds so anti what they do.

We were put on alert for heavy ICE raids on Sunday. I am not convinced this is reliable information. However I do think Trump will want to immediately commit some sort of outrage to shift attention away from the massive support for No Kings and to reassert the narrative that resistance is hopeless.

What I was expecting would be a bunch of Proud Boys or Oath Keepers trying to stir up shit, so Trump could call out “Antifa violence” and invoke the Insurrection Act. It didn’t happen.
