and I have to admit, meat is already too expensive for me. Luckily I started cooking vegan food in earnest about a year ago. I've made some pretty respectable traditional foods with grains...tacos and spaghetti with a mixture of red quinoa and steel cut oats, of all things--just as an example. I'm surprised shrimp hasn't gone up as fast as most meat. But it is really hard to create plant based foods with the same "chew" as meat. I do miss that from time to time. Shrimp is not a bad substitute for that chewy texture, but it won't work in everything. I hope you are stocking up like crazy when you see a loss leader sale.
