Red Cross receives body of deceased hostage that Hamas claimed was missing.

The Red Cross has received a coffin carrying the remains of a deceased hostage in Gaza, which is now on its way to Israeli troops in the territory, the Israeli military said Monday.

“According to information provided by the Red Cross, a coffin of a deceased hostage has been transferred into its custody and is on the way to IDF troops in the Gaza Strip,” according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (ISA).

The individual has yet to be named or formally identified. The IDF in an earlier statement asked the public to act with “sensitivity and wait for the official identification, which will first be provided to the families.”

“Hamas is required to uphold the agreement and take the necessary steps to return all the deceased hostages,” that statement added.

Your O/P title seems misleading or incorrect.

As well, it is not the title of the article you linked to.

Due to the extensive destruction of Gaza? That they could not access all the bodies because of it?

That's different from claiming they are "missing".

I wonder why Israel or the international community does not provide the specialized equipment and teams that Gaza does not have and Hamas has been asking for? After all, nearly all of Gaza's bulldozers and heavy equipment were bombed to smithereens too.

So on the one hand Netanyahu claims Hamas violated the ceasefire by not returning the deceased, but on the other refuses to provide the necessary resources to recover them.

Is there some benefit to him and his religio-nut RW ministers of not having the bodies recovered and so reigniting the genocide on that pretext?
