There are so many reasons why we should: a historical building/monument, no public input or approval, no process through Congress, and it is not a Trump property. He has stolen it and is turning it into his own palace.
To be clear, the new 'Ballroom' will not host proper State balls, but it will be a grifting venue. He will host gawd knows who to enrich himself. He will use this gilded monstrosity to hold court over international criminals and billionaires who want access to our precious resources. It will not benefit the People in any way shape or form.
It will be a venue of crime and treason.
He will use it to continue to loot our nation.

We should somehow stop it. We should indict the traitor. We should seize his assets and use some to repair the damage already done.

5. He lied in order to be able to build Trump Tower.

It was on the site of the Art Deco 1929 Bonwit Teller building (built by the same architects as Grand Central Terminal. The building had grand facades on it and was beloved. He ensured approval by promising to preserve the art deco facades for the Metropolitan Museum of Art to display. Once he had his go-aheads he did not keep his promises and destroyed the facades because he claimed it was too costly to tear down the building and protect the art. In reality, he just did not care.
He does not care about us or our treasures at all. He will destroy or loot them. OUR WHOLE COUNTRY.
