He lives for huge events where people come to flatter him and fawn over him. Mierda-Lardo isn't big enough and it's closed in the summer anyhow, so a place he has complete control over that will seat almost 1,000 people year-round is just what his ego needs. He can entertain as many oligarchs and wealthy grifters as he needs to fluff him and pay him for his favors. When he's gone, and may that happen soon, I just hope a future president either tears it down completely or repurposes it as something useful, whatever that might be.
