WH itself appears to be aware this is problematic:

CNN: Staff at the Treasury Department received an email on Monday instructing them to refrain from taking photos of the construction happening on the White House’s East Wing after images of demolition in preparation for President Trump’s new ballroom went viral.

“As construction proceeds on the White House grounds, employees should refrain from taking and sharing photographs of the grounds, to include the East Wing, without prior approval from the Office of Public Affairs,” the email reads, according to a Treasury official.

Someone who works in the permit office for construction in DC should look into this and get the information on the permit and post it. I bet he didn't get permit to destroy East Wing, (which requires a permit) nor for the new construction. That takes many months. Did they check for asphalt, lead paint etc. Any workers who are working on this project should help get the information out to the public. How are they getting paid, who is paying them and are they union workers? Come on folks, let's get some information out there for us to read.

Some pieces could have been sold to dealers who specialize in salvage or for history. The profits donated to a neutral charity. An old dairy barn near me was demolished last year to reduce property taxes. The beams and planks were worth a small fortune. I used salvaged doors, windows and light fixtures when I built. Better and cheaper than new and they have some character.
