Same old, same old
I’ve been fuming over Trump’s demolition of the East Wing. This morning I called and registered a complaint with each Vermont politician in Washington.
After a couple of hours I started thinking about Trump’s disgraceful East Wing destruction in a different way. Of course he tore the East Wing down. He’s Donald Trump. This was his “grab them by the pussy” style, only this time it was a building instead of a woman. Remember….he’s a star so they let him do it.
History means nothing to Trump. He grabbed that and took what he wanted. Out with mentions of black war heroes, female heroines, Ann Frank books. Next came the
Smithsonian and the Kennedy Arts Center. He is a star so they let him do it.
Trump is busy grabbing more stuff….SNAP benefits and suicide hotlines, the CDC and climate change research. He has grabbed and destroyed laws, rules, guidelines, traditions. He took empathy and honor, conscience and values. Gone. Finished. Destroyed.
That photo of the East Wing in ruins is a profound example of the value Trump places on America, her people, her history. Trump’s place in history will resemble an enormous, smoldering black hole wrapped in yellow police tape, surrounded by orange warning cones, the air around it filled with something horrifically putrid. Way better than what he deserves.
