When are we going to start asking our blue state governments to withhold sending money to the Federal government? Something needs to be done.

I would never do it myself, I'm not smart or reckless enough to try and pull that off.
I have some respect for those who do.
On edit: They plan to change that if/when the regime changes.
Also: with the IRS gutted, who's going to notice or care?

Yes, there are challenges to that idea but it could be done under certain circumstances.

(7,612 posts)More immediate practical obstacles, they explained, stem from the fact that theres vastly more money flowing from the federal government to the states than the other way around.

(17,390 posts)Employers collect it and send it to the US Treasury. Penalties for keeping it and not submitting are pretty steep I believe

Its hard for me to think of a dumber idea, even if a state managed to steal the money, the individuals and businesses would still owe what they owe, plus interest and penalties, while state officials are probably facing federal felony charges.
