This is the new Republican "unified stance" on the shutdown, the result of pressure from Trump."If Dems sign our poison pill bill, we'll BE FUCKIN' DELIGHTED to sit down and fix those pesky little ObamaCare credits."
And, I think we ALL know that Lucy needs to sit there with that football, and we CANNOT kick it, because Republicans CAN'T BE TRUSTED. PERIOD.
The whole purpose of lunch [at the White House] is to keep all the team together, to make sure that we don't have any weak links, Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) told reporters at the Capitol.
"Whenever the Democrats want to fund the government, then we're happy to sit down and fix the ACA.
Democrats arent buying that, especially as open enrollment signup and the sticker shock expected to hit tens of millions of Americans starts Nov. 1.

A new report from Iowa Starting Line reveals that after voting for a corporate tax giveaway that added $2 trillion to the national debt, Senator Joni Ernst is blaming earned benefits like Social Security and Medicare for out of control spending, and went on to admit all Republicans agree.
Last year, Senator Ernst was caught advocating that lawmakers discuss their plans to cut Social Security behind closed doors so were not being scrutinized. Now, it appears she did exactly that using a closed-door fundraiser to confirm her commitment to cutting the benefits Iowans rely on.

Vulnerable Senator Joni Ernst was recently caught on tape telling constituents in Iowa shed like to keep her attempts to gut Social Security behind closed doors so were not being scrutinized (which is not something you say if you can defend the plan youre pushing) and widespread news coverage of her comments has followed.
Senator Ernst has not only talked about privatizing Social Security since at least 2014, shes also introduced her own toxic proposal that smashes open the Social Security lockbox and could take a sizable cut out of older Americans retirement payments by asking workers to borrow against their own retirement in order to take paid family leave. The DSCC has consistently held Ernst accountable for her toxic record of threatening Social Security and siding with corporate special interests over hardworking Iowans.
