Social Security (SS) checks are issued monthly on a schedule determined by your birth date, with most people receiving their payment on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of the month. Specifically, payments are issued on the second Wednesday for those born between the 1st and 10th, the third Wednesday for those born between the 11th and 20th, and the fourth Wednesday for those born between the 21st and 31st. It's important to note that as of October 2025, all payments are delivered through direct deposit or the Direct Express debit card, as paper checks have been discontinued.

(28,572 posts)I realized what happened: originally, I knew that it was Wednesday, but it used to be credited on Tuesday nights. So after a couple years, my brain changed it to Tuesday and then on occasion, it would pop in over the weekend prior to the expected date, and then I began believing that it was technically Monday night Into Tuesday.
But you are absolutely correct. And as I said, Im a moron.
