I read that Ukraine and Sweden made a deal to send Swedish Fighter Jets to Ukraine...

But it seems that Ukraine will only get these jets in 2-3 years...this doesn't seem to help much in the current war with Russia...just wondering if the 2-3 year wait for receiving these fighter jets is correct or maybe I mis-understood...

On the eve of the EU summit, Ukraine and Sweden signed a deal Wednesday for up to 150 Gripen E fighter jets for Kyiv over the next decade, with the first deliveries expected in 2026.

It’s takes quite awhile to train pilots to proficiently operate such a advanced platform plus to train the ground crews on maintaining and repairing such.

This isn’t like getting just enough training to become a member of the 20 Minute Club in WWI.
