Republicans are ridiculing 'No Kings.' A striking new poll shows Americans aren't laughing

Republicans have spent many days trying to marginalize the massive anti-Trump “No Kings” rallies held across the country over the weekend.

They’ve argued the people involved were extremists and even predicted they would be violent (which turned out not to be true). They’ve claimed the protesters hate America. And they’ve argued that the “No Kings” message itself is nonsensical, given President Donald Trump is a democratically elected president who sometimes works with Congress.

House Speaker Mike Johnson added Monday night on Fox News that the protesters’ messages were “completely the opposite of what America was founded upon.”

New polling, though, reinforces how much the thrust of the “No Kings” message has resonated with much of the American public.

4. "Extremist...violent...hate America"

Not from what I saw. The march I attended with my daughter featured people of every age, race, creed, color, etc. Many people carried signs that said things like "We love America, that's why we're here!" I can only speak for myself, but that's why I marched in April, June, & last Saturday. I care deeply about this nation & what we're leaving behind for our kids & grandkids. I tell my daughters, "When my generation is gone, this will be your country. What do you want it to be?"

The No Kings message is exactly what our nation was founded on.
We fought a war to free ourselves from one tyrannical king, and establish a Constitutional Democratic Republic that has endured since the ratification of the Constitution in 1788.
And now the republication party wants to undo all that and return America to tyrannical rulership under "king" Donald Trump.
Johnson may be the Speaker for complicit republicans in Congress, but he doesn't speak for a strong majority of US citizens who still adhere to the Constitution and the rule of law.
