CALLING ALL BLUE STATES: THIS IS NOT A DRILL:

You are falling behind on the Red States cheating to gerrymander districts to favor Republicans ahead of the 2026 mid-term elections.

Stop debating and dragging your feet and get fucking moving before it's too late!

Indivisible has a Neighbor2Neighbor campaign to get out the vote.
Check this out, and Gavin Newsom's store with great propaganda signs and flags and such.

First off, I’m kind of miffed that they stole the color red from us. Red is traditionally the color of the left. Democratic states were most often red until the 2000 theft when the corporate media decided Republicans were uniformly red.

Be that as it may, are there any states that are controlled by Democrats and that aren’t already Democratic all the way through? Which states are there in which this gerrymandering can be done?

I’m all for doing it but can it feasibly happen? I’m not seeing where it can happen. Illinois maybe?

And a handful of states might be able to redistrict and add a single new Dem seat.

It might not matter - with the economy in decline, and millions set to see their healthcare premiums at least double, even MTG sees the writing on the wall.

Years ago I read that gerrymandering can backfire when a district's demographic or disposition changes.

America's disposition toward Trump is changing. Not enough or fast enough, but he's pissed off just about everyone in some way & this demolition of the White House is really bad optics, even to people who aren't political. He's not going to be any more popular next fall & a lot of folks might think an out of control president could use some democratic brakes, if only for two years.

I am seeing that red change with the early elections showing big margins for Dems.

I wonder how happy these Red folks are with chump.

But it's a great idea for blue states that haven't or can't do it.

Fire with fire.

in their own favor.... In 2022, the first election after we had more fairly redrawn districts,
the Democrats retook both houses of the legislature for the first time in about 40 years....!

so no, no chance for us to pick up any seats in this state by redrawing the lines---
but even some blue states heavily gerrymandered in favor of Democrats
could pick up some seats one by one if redrawn, such as Maryland...

On the bright side, in 2026 I think we could at least come close
to picking up the 40 seats which were won during Trump's first term in 2018---
and polling says they are in worse shape now than they were before the 2018 mid-terms....

If so, the Republicans' current gerrymandering tweaks won't come close
to solving their 2026 problem....

probably 12 to 15 (maybe more, I have seen many Dems from the House and Senate claim 20 plus) minority-held (especially black districts) House seats, plus the continued RW gerrymandering already happening in other Red states before that ruling, with at least 8 to 10 (perhaps more) additional House seats probably flipped Blue to Red due to that.

Taking the minimum number of both those 2 ratfucks yields a potential net 40 seat Blue to Red shift that we have to dig out of just from those 2 things.

Also, all this assumes (big assumption) we will have free and fair elections in 2026 and especially 2028.

as party nominees for those elections may well have already been chosen in many states before any decision is rendered.

But agreed, I don't like what I'm reading about this.

I GET that if you live in a place that has more bears than people, firearms regulation just isn't gonna be your thing, and you should rightly get to have reps that will carry that flag for you.

But, that shouldn't mean that you get to fuck over people who live EVERYWHERE ELSE.
