More Fallout From The Shutdown

I am the administrator for my brother's estate. We finally got his home ready for sale and it hit the market 15 days ago. Over 500 people have viewed the property and over 40 have saved it, but we've had no requests for tours or offers. It's a nice house, in good condition and fairly priced. Why no activity?

USDA is processing no new loans. Our realtor says it's pretty much the same for VA and FHA. If you can't get pre-approved, why look at houses? And even if you've been pre-approved, no closings are taking place because payment isn't guaranteed or forthcoming.

In the meantime, my husband and I, on a fixed income, continue to dip into our savings to pay the $1046 mortgage payment.

Thanks, Republicans ... you ruin everything you touch.

They suck at everything else too, but that's the message we can't make stick enough. Certain people keep giving them good grades on the economy (something to do with the old image of a bunch of old white men in suits talking money) while the data proves otherwise.

Sorry you're caught in yet another one of their catastrophes. Would renting it out be a possibility? I know that would incur other expenses of course.

A law MUST be passed that Congress salaries STOP during any government shutdown.

Put an end to this chicken shit nonsense.

All the estate bills and any inheritance for his children hinges on the house being sold. That's what the Judge ordered so here we are.
